Saturday, October 18, 2025
Saturday, October 18, 2025 | 7:30 a.m. | Stewart Creek Park, The Colony, Texas, 75056
Registration for The Colony Shoreline 5K & 8 Miler is open! Previously known as The Colony Half Marathon and Green Dragon Five Miler. Join us this year to run along the beautiful Shoreline Trail in The Colony, Texas, at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2025. It’s a flat course, great scenery, entertainment by DJ Dame and a free post-run beer! Proceeds benefit UT Southwestern to support cancer research. About 60 percent of this race will run along The Colony's scenic Shoreline Trail, a smooth crushed granite surface overlooking beautiful Lake Lewisville.
The Colony Shoreline Run is a 5K (3.1 miles) and 8 mile race taking place in The Colony, Texas, a suburb north of Dallas. This volunteer-led event brings in nearly 1,000 runners each year with proceeds benefiting UT Southwestern, researching and finding a cure for cancer. 60 percent of the 3.1-mile and 80 percent of the 8 mile course will run along The Colony Shoreline Trail on beautiful Lake Lewisville. Runners will enjoy a gently undulating, smooth crushed granite surface in a picturesque and natural setting that promises a memorable race experience for all.
We will offer several water stops throughout the course to ensure you’re hydrated. Runners will also receive a classic soft cotton tee shirt and participant medal commemorating the race.
Packet Pickup will be Friday, October 17, 2025 at The Colony Recreation Center from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The address is 5151 North Colony Boulevard, The Colony, Texas, 75056. Packet pickup will also be available on race day starting at 6:00 a.m. until 7:15 a.m.
If you're traveling for our race, we highly recommend staying at one of three hotels in The Cascades, located just a few miles from the race site. Choose from Residence Inn, Courtyard or Fairfield Inn, all by Marriott.
All registrations will receive a soft cotton tee shirt, chip timed bib, finishers medal and post race beer ticket.
You will be able to park inside Stewart Creek park (preferred parking location), but please note if you do, you will not be able to leave until 9:30 a.m to ensure runners have been cleared from the course. If you are running and want to leave early, you can park at the grass field located at Pecan Crossing and North Colony just before entering the park (about half mile walk inside park). There will be volunteers and signs to guide you.
5K & 8 mile will start promptly at 7:30 a.m. Start time is subject to change.
Strollers, headphones and dogs are okay. If you bring a dog to run, please ensure they are properly hydrated and prepared to run our course. If you are running with a stroller or dog, please be courteous and start in the back of the pack since this is a chip-timed event and always stay to the right side of the trail as you will have runners returning in opposite direction.
Follow us on Facebook for the most up to date information, and see you on October 18!
